Job summary

A leading construction firm in Puchong, Malaysia is seeking an experienced professional for a liaison role. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating project activities between developers, stakeholders, and contractors. The ideal candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Architecture, have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience, and be proficient in relevant design software. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is preferred, as the role requires communication with diverse clients. This position demands strong project management skills and an ability to resolve technical issues effectively.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between the development team and other departments/stakeholders or investor. Communicate project updates, timelines, and potential issues.
  • Responsible to assist, control & coordinate activities of development, investor for the projects
  • Prepare recommendation paper for development projects, to appoint consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • To schedule and control progress of work based on budget and requirements;
  • To coordinate and monitor sub-contractors’ progress and to ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, construction plan, procedures within the timeline, etc.;
  • To liaise and coordinate workflow closely between sub-contractors, projects, and other departments;
  • To identify, evaluate, and resolve problems at construction sites, and to ensure that solutions are of good quality;
  • To execute assignments through proper planning to adhere to the work schedule(s);
  • To attend site meetings;
  • To assist in resolving all site technical issues between parties including consultants, main contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers;
  • To follow up with consultants on all authorities’ requirements;
  • To ensure that projects comply with authorities’ requirements, especially for final delivery stages;
  • To liaise and maintain good relationships with all parties including main contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and authorities; and
  • To supervise and lead team of design architect and check their work
  • Prepare, review, and implement Master Project Programmed
  • To prepare reports, minutes of meetings, letters to client / consultants / resident architect / contractor
  • To attend meetings / briefing / presentation with clients / contractors / authorities, site visit / inspection and etc
Qualifications
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Architecture/construction or equivalent
  • Previous work experience of at least 5-8 years in a general architectural capacity;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop and other design software. Knowledge in Lumion and Revit or is an added advantage
  • Must have knowledge dealings with authorities and procedures;
  • Knowledgeable in contract matters i.e. tender documentation and tender implementation
  • Knowledgeable in project management skills for construction management
  • Must have basic knowledge about costing;
  • Knowledge and fluency (to the point of being able to conduct business transactions and meetings) in more than one language will be a significant advantage; and
  • Advantageous characteristics will include thoroughness and meticulousness, level-headedness, patience, and being personable.
  • Good written and communication skills, spoken and written in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. Candidates fluent in Mandarin preferred as role requires candidates to deal with Mandarin speaking clients.
  • Able to multi-task, possess a pleasant disposition, well organized and excellent in time management with good follow up skills.
