A leading electronics manufacturer in Penang seeks an Assembly Technician to conduct assembly, soldering, and testing of antennas. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a relevant field, along with 1-3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Quality Department, maintaining production records, and training new staff. The role necessitates excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Conduct assembly, soldering, RF testing, and VNA calibration of antenna in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications.
Collaborating with Quality and Engineering Department to implement necessary adjustments or troubleshooting issues as required.
Providing technical support to minimize machinery downtime.
Shall be capable of operating production equipment such as cable cutting and stripping machines, crimpers, VNA/PIM testers, ovens, and other measurement instruments.
Must immediately notify production problems, equipment abnormalities, or quality issues to the superiors.
Maintain accurate production records, material usage logs, and daily output reports.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times.
Responsible for process improvement to increase efficiency and eliminate faults.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production workstation (5S compliance).
Responsible for training new operators and junior technicians when required.
Process certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar field.
Requires 1–3 years of expertise in equipment engineering for electronics, assembly, or manufacturing.
Knowledge of electronics components and tools, such as multimeters, soldering irons, crimping tools, and mechanical tools.
Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings, SOPs, and quality standards.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail when assembling small components.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willing to work in a controlled manufacturing environment if required.
Willing to work overtime or shifts to meet production demands
