Job summary

A leading digital banking institution in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Product Owner – Cards, Deposits & Campaigns. The successful candidate will oversee product ownership for Cards and Deposits while managing customer campaigns across the bank. This role requires 5-7 years of product management experience in digital banking or financial services and strong knowledge of regulatory compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure effective product delivery and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Job description

The Product Owner – Cards, Deposits & Campaigns holds a dual mandate:

  1. Product ownership of Cards and Deposits, accountable for execution, delivery, and performance of initiatives across these products; and
  2. Bank-wide ownership of all customer campaigns, spanning all products and customer segments.

This role ensures strong alignment between portfolio strategy, campaign execution, and product outcomes, while operating within the strategic direction set by the Head of Cards & Deposits.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Product Ownership – Cards & Deposits

  • Own the day-to-day product execution and delivery for Cards and Deposits in line with the portfolio strategy and priorities set by the Head of Cards & Deposits.
  • Translate portfolio strategy into product roadmaps, features, pricing changes, and campaign execution plans.
  • Manage Cards and Deposits initiatives from ideation through launch, including requirement definition, delivery, and post-launch optimisation.
  • Track and manage product KPIs (e.g. balance growth, retention, acquisition, activation, spend) and elevate insights and risks to the Head of Cards & Deposits.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Treasury, and ALCO on pricing and campaign-related matters, ensuring alignment with portfolio-level decisions.
  • Manage dependencies with card networks, processors, and internal technology teams.

B. Bank-wide Campaign Ownership (All Products)

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of all customer campaigns across the bank, including deposits, cards, payments, lending, SME, and future products.
  • Define campaign objectives, mechanics, eligibility rules, incentives, limits, customer journeys, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for campaign execution across Product, Marketing, Tech, Data, Ops, Risk, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Maintain and govern a centralised campaign roadmap and calendar, ensuring alignment with business targets and delivery capacity.

C. Cross-Functional Delivery & Execution

  • Work with agile squads to deliver Cards, Deposits, and campaign initiatives on time and with quality.
  • Ensure launch readiness across marketing, operations, customer support, and finance.

D. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure Cards, Deposits, and all campaigns comply with BNM regulations, internal policies, AML/CFT, and consumer protection standards.
  • Prepare materials and support submissions for governance forums (e.g. GTM, ALCO, Risk Committees).
  • Proactively identify and mitigate product- and campaign-related risks.

E. Performance Management & Optimization

  • Monitor and report performance of Cards and Deposits products to the Head of Cards & Deposits.
  • Lead post-campaign and post-launch reviews with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Continuously optimise campaigns and product execution using data and experimentation.

Job Requirements & Criteria:

Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in product management / product ownership within digital banking, fintech, or financial services.
  • Proven hands‑on experience managing Cards and/or Deposit products, including pricing, campaigns, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong experience owning and delivering bank‑wide customer campaigns across multiple product lines.
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment, with exposure to governance forums (e.g. ALCO, Risk Committee, GTM).
  • Prior experience working in agile, cross‑functional delivery teams.
