Overview

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead package design meeting customer expectations i.e. technical requirements.
• Lead manufacturability for new product introduction.
• Create drawings and validate design concepts to determine the best product.
• Lead technical risk assessment/brainstorming and design simulation of product/design ideas with relevant team members.
• Work with cross functional team to create and test prototype to validate design.
• Liaise closely with Application Engineering team.
• Able to translate application related requirements to product.
• Understand and incorporate LED packaging technology, reliability requirements and design guidelines into product designs.
• Lead investigation and analysis of technical issues and active involvement in implementation of solutions for design improvement.
• Active participation in team-based problem solving efforts (e.g. Focus Team).
• Consistent in self-development, upgrading overall performance by maintaining organizational knowledge through design guideline, design rules, supplier capability, knowledge management system and actively participating in internal and external knowledge sharing (technical symposium, trade shows, etc).
• Maintain up to date on current industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master of Engineering (Mechatronic/ Electromechanical), Physics or equivalent.
• At least 5-8 years of working experience in the relevant field.
• Preferable with LED or Semiconductor design and package/product development knowledge.
• Data analysis skills are required. Knowledge of GDT, SolidWorks and AutoCAD will be an advantage. Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and very good communication skills to liaise between different departments/groups.
