A leading procurement firm in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing of products and materials. Responsibilities include vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and monitoring procurement-related expenses. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and at least 1 year of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication and analytical skills. Purchase supply of products and materials required by the company.
Determine the cost-effective sourcing options to achieve lowest total cost without compromising quality.
Source, evaluate, and interview vendors; negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
Manage and maintain supply base to ensure continuity of supply.
Prepare requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
Track, monitor, and record purchase orders and delivery status.
Receive goods, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and document arrivals accordingly.
Monitor procurement-related expenses.
Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and delivery systems to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Organize and schedule procurements in a timely manner.
Calculate and monitor Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH) to assess inventory turnover and liquidity.
Monitor and analyze Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH) to assess inventory turnover, cash flow efficiency, and stock optimization, ensuring balanced inventory levels to support business demand.
Communicate supplier performance, costs, and inventory metrics to management.
Recommend new ideas and strategies; and implement new processes, systems, or improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance to scorecard measurement systems to track values.
Operate equipment and systems in accordance with safety and operational procedures.
Communicate and coordinate effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and management to align procurement goals.
Perform any other procurement-related duties as assigned.
