Job description
Senior Executive, Procurement – Packaging

The Senior Executive, Procurement will manage end-to-end packaging procurement for FMCG products across Malaysia and Vietnam. The role works closely with the HOD to drive sourcing strategy, cost optimisation, and timely delivery to support production, NPD launches, and business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Source and localise primary and secondary packaging materials (bottles, pumps, caps, labels, cartons, sachets).
  • Drive localisation projects in Malaysia and Vietnam to optimise cost, lead time, and supply reliability.
  • Ensure alignment of specifications, MOQ, lead time, and quality requirements with OEMs and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Planning team to execute replenishment orders based on demand forecasts.
  • Monitor packaging inventory, flag risks, and support order phasing, safety stock, and buffer strategies.
  • Manage full P2P cycle: PR validation, PO issuance, delivery follow-up, GRN coordination, invoice verification, and payment tracking.
  • Conduct packaging cost analysis, cost breakdowns, price variance tracking, and supplier benchmarking.
  • Support target costing, cost-down initiatives, and cost impact assessment for packaging changes.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks such as single-source items, tooling dependency, or long lead times.
  • Manage packaging tooling assets and coordinate change management to minimise obsolete stock.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, MOQ, lead time, and commercial terms.
  • Monitor and enforce supplier performance on cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Prepare decision-ready reports, cost comparisons, and scenario analysis for management review.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, costing, and supplier documentation and ensure compliance with internal SOPs and audit requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • On-time Delivery (OTD) of packaging materials
  • PO cycle time from PR to supplier confirmation
  • Cost variance vs target / budget
  • Inventory stock cover / reduction of obsolete stock
  • Cost savings or cost avoidance initiatives implemented
  • Supplier performance on delivery, quality, and responsiveness
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG packaging materials.
  • Hands‑on experience in end-to-end P2P, replenishment ordering, and cost analysis.
  • Experience with Planning, Finance, and OEM/contract manufacturers.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; ERP/P2P system experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial analysis skills.
  • Commercially minded, detail‑oriented, and execution‑focused.
  • Independent and proactive; able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, high‑change environment.
  • Confident in communicating with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Willingness to support Malaysia & Vietnam operations.
  • Good command of English and able to read and write Mandarin; Vietnamese is an advantage.
