Job description
Requirements
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (chemical industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of chemical classification (UN numbers, hazard classes) and SDS handling.
  • Basic understanding of IMDG/IATA rules for transporting chemicals.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarinto handle multi-market suppliers.
  • Able to travel overseas occasionally for supplier visits, audits, or trade events.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Experience with battery materials, solvents, or industrial chemicals is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and purchase chemical raw materials used in battery-related production.
  • Identify, qualify, and negotiate with local and foreign suppliers.
  • Ensure every shipment complies with DG (Dangerous Goods) regulations, SDS requirements, and import rules.
  • Work with logistics partners on IMDG/IATA requirements for chemical transport.
  • Verify COA, SDS, and technical specifications for every batch.
  • Plan shipments according to lead times, stock levels, and storage safety rules.
  • Manage purchase orders, follow up on delivery schedules, and handle purchasing documentation (invoice, packing list, DGD, B/L).
  • Check Malaysia import regulations (Customs HS codes, MITI, DOE, DOSH) before confirming overseas orders.
  • Coordinate with our overseas procurement partners for joint sourcing and supplier evaluation.
