A leading procurement company in Gopeng, Malaysia is looking for a procurement officer to manage supply orders, evaluate suppliers, and execute procurement plans. Ideal candidates should have relevant experience and hold at least a diploma. Strong communication and analytical skills are a must. Job description
Overview

Create and maintain computerized database of supply purchase orders, paid invoices, goods delivered, product and raw material quality, inventory and future order scheduling.

Plan and schedule procurement and delivery according to order requirement which includes preparing purchase order, delivery order, and any other documents necessary for import clearance with the relevant authority.

Maintain and update the list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times and potential future development.

Interview potential suppliers prior to contract negotiations, including visiting plants and distribution centers.

Discussing materials, products and quality standards with suppliers.

Evaluate current and new suppliers to determine optimal setup for supply contracts, taking into account costs, delivery lead times, product quality and available inventory.

Oversee fulfilment of supply contracts by verifying quantity and quality of incoming shipments, checking and working with suppliers as necessary to resolve any discrepancies.

Assist in reviewing and analyzing all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.

Assist in estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases.

Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and industry trends.

Coordinate import and export shipping activities, including documentation and customs clearance.

Undertake assignments and ad-hoc tasks related duties as and when required.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Certificate, Diploma or Degree.

At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Possess good communication skills, analytical skill and details oriented.

Proactive, Critical thinking, complex problem solving, social perceptiveness ability is a plus point.

Proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.

Able to work independently and perform overtime whenever needed.
