Procurement and Vendor Development Manager

Job will be based at HICOM-Teck See Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. located in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Sdn. Bhd. located in Pekan, Pahang.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage new automotive and non-automotive project development from sourcing to implementation.

Perform vendor sourcing, evaluation, and development to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness.

Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ), conduct commercial evaluations, and lead price and contract negotiations.

Initiate and support cost reduction initiatives, including value-added and value engineering (VA/VE) activities.

Monitor supply chain performance, vendor delivery, quality, and compliance.

Act as a liaison with government authorities and regulatory bodies when required.

Manage subcontractor sourcing, ordering, and performance.

Identify risks and opportunities within projects and supply chain activities, evaluate impact, and implement appropriate risk control measures.

Communicate identified risks and opportunities effectively to subordinates and stakeholders.

Promote and embed a risk-based thinking approach within the team and daily operations.

Assign responsibilities and authorities to ensure Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, including:

  • Adherence to standards and procedures
  • Process effectiveness and performance monitoring
  • System integrity during organizational or process changes

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in:

  • Strategic sourcing and procurement
  • Analytical and negotiation skills
  • Vendor performance monitoring and development
  • Troubleshooting supply issues
  • Incentives application, justification, and approval processes
  • Expediting and supply assurance

Energetic, proactive, and adaptable; able to work effectively with minimal supervision and planning.
