Process Assistant - Manufacturing Industry

The Process Assistant will support the Process Engineer and Project Engineer in daily operations, documentation, and process optimization. This role requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure smooth production workflows and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Support: Assist the Project Engineer in drafting, formatting, and maintaining technical documents, reports, and process manuals.
- Machine Parameter Adjustment: Support the Process Engineer in monitoring and fine‑tuning machine parameters to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Issue Tracking: Collect, document, and follow up on open process issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication with relevant stakeholders.
- CAD Utilization: Use CAD software to prepare layouts, technical drawings, and process‑related schematics.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather production and process data, perform basic analysis, and provide insights to engineers for decision‑making.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support process improvements and troubleshoot operational challenges.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, process audits, and improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Inventory & Materials Support: Assist in monitoring material usage and availability to ensure smooth process flow.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all process‑related activities.
Reporting Line
Reports directly to the Process Engineer. Provides support to the Project Engineer as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine operations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with problem‑solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in process documentation and technical writing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Hands‑on experience with machine setup or parameter adjustment.
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for process tracking.
