Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Substation Commissioning Lead & Service Engineer to manage and coordinate commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power, or Instrumentation Engineering and possess 7-10 years of experience in substation commissioning and testing. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams are essential. This role emphasizes effective communication with clients and ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in substation commissioning, testing, or protection engineering.
• Strong understanding of protection, control, and automation systems.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, SCADA, and related communication protocols.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings and schematics for commissioning readiness.
• Develop test procedures and commissioning schedules.
• Coordinate with internal teams to plan commissioning activities.
• Liaise with clients to report progress and technical issues.
• Perform or oversee primary testing of electrical systems.
