About the Role

As a Platform Engineer, you will help build, scale, and secure our Internal Developer Platform to improve developer efficiency and system reliability. You will champion reliable, scalable, and secure solutions, ensuring that our Internal Developer Platform acts as a point of leverage for the company’s products.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Ownership

  • Contribute to designs that align with business goals.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance and scalability.
  • Follow team best practices to consistently deliver high quality and maintainable products.

Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning & Operations (AWS)

  • Build and implement our Internal Developer Platform on cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Track cloud resource utilization to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Monitoring, Observability & Incident Response

  • Add and maintain monitoring and observability solutions to track system performance.
  • Participate in incident response, conduct root cause analysis to minimize downtime and resolve issues quickly.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
  • Maintain incident response playbooks and ensure efficient on-call rotations.

Software Pipelines & Shift-Left Practices

  • Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines that facilitate efficient, automated software delivery.
  • Adopt shift-left practices in testing, security, and compliance to catch issues early in the development lifecycle.

Security, Compliance & Disaster Recovery

  • Apply security best practices across the platform, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met.
  • Participate in test disaster recovery verification and exercises.

Team Development

  • Provide constructive code reviews.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, collaborative learning environment and knowledge sharing that encourages continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Clarify requirements with System Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to align goals and deliverables.
  • Communicate technical challenges and opportunities clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Platform Engineering Experience: Proven track record in building scalable Internal Developer Platforms (React/Typescript, Python, Go, or similar tools for automation), provisioning and operating AWS cloud infrastructure (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar tools), implementing monitoring/observability solutions (Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, or similar tools), managing incidents.
  • Cloud-Native Proficiency: Familiar with the landscape of cloud-native technologies and able to evaluate and summarize the trade-offs clearly.
  • Shift-Left Mindset: Prior experience embedding testing, security, and compliance practices early in the software development lifecycle.
  • Professional Communication: Ability to respectfully disagree and seek to understand before being understood. Communicates clearly, values commitments, and acts with integrity.
  • AI-Driven Software Development: As part of our AI-driven Engineering culture, you will be expected to already have integrated agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex into your daily software development process. We seek candidates who not only embrace these technologies, but also exercise critical oversight via iterating prompts, verifying outputs, and ensuring secure, high-quality code.

Expected Impact Timeline

In your first month, you will:

  • Get up to speed on our internal platform, AWS infrastructure, processes, and team dynamics.
  • Build relationships with teammates and understand their strengths.

By month 3, you will:

  • Actively contribute to building internal platform improvements.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and offer solutions to optimize performance, monitoring, and automation.

By month 6, you will:

  • Own platform components end-to-end or with your team, ensuring reliability, security, and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead improvement project and influencing broader platform decisions.
