A leading electronics manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Production & Material Planner to oversee accurate scheduling and efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of planning experience in the electronics manufacturing services industry, a degree in supply chain management or a related field, and excellent cross-functional communication skills. Responsibilities include managing production planning, material availability, and collaborating with various departments to ensure timely delivery to meet customer demands.

Understand the full manufacturing process and develop accurate production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, production capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.
Manage end-to-end production planning from raw materials through WIP (Work-in-Progress) to finished goods to drive production efficiency and on-time delivery.
Collaborate with various departments, including production, warehouse, logistics, procurement, program/project manager, to align planning efforts with customers demand, to ensure smooth production operations and material flow.
Collaborate with production HOD/ Supervisor to schedule production orders and allocate resources effectively.
Create and manage material plans based on customer purchase orders, demand forecasts, and material lead times.
Monitor material availability and coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, and semi-finished goods to support production needs.
Identify and highlight material shortages in advance; elevate critical gaps and collaborate with Procurement, Warehouse, and Project teams for resolution.
Communicate effectively with program/project team and customers regarding forecasts, orders and delivery schedules.
Update and maintain the IFS ERP system by entering customer forecasts and orders, creating shop orders, tracking production progress, and generating shipping documents and invoices.
Develop and maintain shipment plans for customer orders, ensuring alignment with production schedules and delivery commitments.
Perform weekly, monthly, and annual KPI reporting and data analysis to drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, material readiness, and on-time delivery performance.
Support the implementation and tracking of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring timely cut-in/cut-over and material alignment.
Candidate must possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
Preferably 3 years or above experience in a planning role (production & material planning).
Previous experience in a planning or similar role within the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry is highly preferred.
Strong cross-functional communication skills, both internally with departments and externally with customers.
Attentive to detail and focus on accuracy.
Strong logical reasoning skills and sensitivity to data and metrics.
Basic understanding of production processes.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
