Oversees daily operations related to Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), vehicle movement, storage, and logistics coordination. Ensures all vehicles are delivered in optimal condition, on schedule, and in compliance with company standards. Manages PDI processes, supervises the team, coordinates with dealers, transporters, and internal departments, and implements continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
Key Responsibilities
A. PDI Operations Management
- Oversee the entire PDI process, including vehicle inspection, accessories installation, quality checks, and rectification work.
- Ensure all vehicles meet company quality standards before delivery to dealers/customers.
- Monitor daily workflows to achieve timely vehicle readiness and delivery.
- Review and enhance PDI standard operating procedures (SOPs).
B. Logistics & Vehicle Movement
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound vehicle logistics from storage yards to dealers or branches.
- Coordinate with transporters to ensure timely dispatch and tracking of vehicle movements.
- Optimise logistics cost, routing, and loading efficiency.
- Ensure proper documentation such as delivery orders, gate passes, and handover records.
C. Yard & Inventory Management
- Oversee vehicle storage yard operations, including parking allocation, yard safety, and inventory accuracy.
- Conduct periodic stock checks to ensure accurate vehicle records.
- Implement measures to prevent vehicle damage, loss, or deterioration.
- Liaise with dealers, sales teams, transporters, and third-party vendors on PDI and logistics matters.
- Resolve operational issues promptly to ensure smooth deliveries.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed KPIs and service levels.
E. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements related to vehicle inspection and logistics.
- Monitor quality issues and work with internal teams to initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the PDI and logistics operations.
- Supervise and guide the PDI team, technicians, yard personnel, and logistics staff.
- Provide coaching, monitoring, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare operational reports on daily output, delivery performance, inventory status, quality issues, and cost analysis.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Automotive, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in PDI operations, logistics, or automotive aftersales.
- Experience in supervising a team is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle inspection processes, logistics flow, and inventory management.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with logistics/PDI systems is beneficial.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
