Qualifications

• Experience in loading/unloading activities, storage and distribution, and port-related work is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist terminal representative with loading/unloading operations.
• Lead LPG pipeline transfer and trucking operations.
• Carry out routine area inspections to ensure equipment functionality.
• Monitor operating conditions using DCS for safe operations.
• Maintain logbooks recording temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
• Respond to emergency conditions with necessary adjustments.
• Prepare equipment and liaise with maintenance before handovers.
• Participate in safety and quality programs and investigations.
• Conduct minor maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
• Perform tank gauging, sampling, gas testing, and fire-watching.
• Complete assignments given by superiors.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Technician to join our team at GES Klang Terminal Sdn Bhd in Pulau Indah, Selangor. This full‑time role plays a crucial part in the smooth and efficient operations of our terminal.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the terminal representative (Loading Master) with loading/unloading operations via dedicated berth.
• Assist or lead LPG pipeline transfer & trucking operations.
• Carry out routine area inspections to ensure all equipment and facilities are functional and take corrective actions or refer to duty SS when needed.
• Monitor operating conditions and make in‑process adjustments within the terminal to ensure safe & efficient operations using DCS.
• Maintain logbooks and operating log sheets, recording temperatures, pressures, flow rates, samples taken, volumes received or shipped, etc.
• Respond to emergency or upset conditions by taking necessary shutdown or process adjustments to restore stable terminal operation conditions.
• Ensure equipment and area preparation and cooperate/liaise with maintenance/contractors before, during, and after any handover.
• Actively participate in all safety and quality programmes such as SOR, housekeeping, meetings, and training.
• Assist in all investigations and troubleshooting in any incident, accident, and product loss.
• Participate during commissioning, start‑up & shutdown activities according to approved operating procedures and general instructions.
• Conduct minor maintenance and predetermined scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Perform tank gauging, sampling, gas testing and fire‑watching when required.
• Perform any assignment given by superior.
