Job summary

A leading chocolate manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee factory operations. This role involves leading production, quality assurance, and logistics while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of food manufacturing experience and strong leadership skills. Job description

Lead and manage overall factory operations including Production, Maintenance, QA/QC, Warehouse, Logistics, Procurement and Planning.

Ensure daily production meets quality, quantity and delivery requirements.

Drive continuous improvement to enhance OEE, productivity, manpower efficiency and material utilization.

Oversee equipment performance, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.

Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal, DOSH, DOE and other food safety regulations.

Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Oversee production planning, material scheduling and inventory efficiency.

Manage operational costs, prepare budgets and execute cost-reduction initiatives.

Support new product introduction and ensure smooth transition from R&D to production.

Lead, train and develop a high-performing operations team.

Ensure strong communication and collaboration across all operational departments.

Prepare periodic operational reports and participate in management meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management.

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal and relevant regulatory requirements.

Proven experience in production operations, planning, inventory management and cost control.

Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands‑on and proactive approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
