Operation Manager (Sheet Metal/Metal Fabrication/CNC/Semiconductor Environment)
The Operation Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day‑to‑day operations across Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Engineering. This role requires strong technical expertise in sheet metal, metal fabrication, CNC machining, and semiconductor industry practices. The incumbent ensures operational excellence, drives continuous improvement, and supports the company’s growth through technical leadership and effective decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and oversee daily operations across Production, QA, and Engineering departments.
- Plan and coordinate production activities, scheduling, and manpower allocation to achieve delivery timelines and production targets.
- Monitor cycle time, production output, and machine utilization (including sheet metal equipment, CNC machines, laser cutting, bending, welding, and finishing processes).
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues on the production floor, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Ensure smooth workflow across all operational functions.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
- Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Oversee process control and ensure all technical documentation including SOPs, Work Instructions, and Control Plans are properly maintained and updated.
- Support and lead customer audits, technical reviews, and operational discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, 5S, Lean practices) to enhance throughput, reduce downtime, and optimize production efficiency.
- Implement cost‑saving initiatives and operational improvements without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide strong technical decision‑making support based on extensive experience in sheet metal, metal fabrication, and CNC processes.
- Support cost estimation, quotation preparation, and technical evaluation for new business opportunities and customer projects.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and process enhancement activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop departmental teams to ensure high performance and operational discipline.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on operational, technical, and project‑related matters.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by Management or Superior.
Required Qualifications
- Preferably a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in sheet metal, metal fabrication, CNC machining; exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
- Strong technical background with proven capability in decision‑making within complex operational environments.
- Hands‑on experience with production management, engineering processes, and quality control systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving, leadership, and communication skills.
