- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily aquaculture operations including farm, feeding, hatchery, grading, grow-out, water quality monitoring or processing activities depending on business scope.
- Ensure production targets related to stock growth, survival rate, feed conversion ratio and harvest schedules, growth performance is met according to SOPs.
- Manage, develop and implement operational schedules to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of production and harvest activities.
- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and consistent with the scope of the position or assigned by the Company.
Team Management & Workforce Planning
- Lead, supervise, and motivate operational teams to achieve performance targets.
- Conduct daily briefing sessions, assign tasks, and monitor productivity.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to supervisors and staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with biosecurity protocols, health management practices and disease prevention measures including fish behaviour, mortality rates and water parameters.
- Implement strict biosecurity controls to reduce contamination and disease outbreaks.
- Coordinate with veterinarians or aquaculture specialists for health treatment programs.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Manage and control inventory of feed, farm equipment, chemicals and consumables to support uninterrupted farm operations.
- Ensure timely procurement of feed, chemicals, spare parts and other farm necessities in line with operational requirements.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of feed usage, stock movement, growth performance and key operational KPIs.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage, loss and overstocking.
Maintenance & Infrastructure
- Ensure all farm equipment are maintained in good and safe working condition.
- Plan, schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate prompt repair or replacement.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers for facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements and repair works.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, food safety standards and aquaculture industry requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date farm logs, production records, water quality reports, and audit documentation.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly operational reports.
- Liaise with relevant government departments and authorities on matters related to compliance, governance, regulatory approvals and statutory requirements.
- Monitor operational costs and ensure optimal utilisation to achieve cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, best practices, or new farming methods to enhance performance, sustainability, and profitability.
