The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a degree in Engineering. Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking skilled and proactive Operations & Maintenance Engineers with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Reclaimation Plant (WTP/WWTP/WRP) operations and maintenance and/or relevant equipment maintenance work. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the water treatment plants, specifically focusing on the Treated Wastewater Recycling System. The candidates will be responsible for optimizing plant processes to meet regulatory standards while minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. Knowledge of SAP and a commitment to safety and compliance are essential.

POSITION: OPERATION & MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

• To inspect and maintain all equipment of the WTP Plant from the inlet of wastewater to the outlet of the treated water;
• To inspect and maintain all machines and electrical equipment used for the WTP;
• To carry out all maintenance services as specified and in accordance with the Operation and Maintenance Manual Guideline;
• To maintain and collate the quality of effluent water/treated water, prepare monthly report for submission;
• To perform necessary troubleshooting for water treatment plant breakdown;
• Perform basic maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment like pumps, motors, and valves;
• Operate pumps, valves, aerators, filters, and other treatment plant equipment;
• Familiarity with SCADA systems;
• Respond to system alarms, overflows, or equipment failures;
• To work with the design engineer to identify equipment performance issues and recommend effective improvements;
• Conduct water sampling for internal/external lab monitoring;
• Serve as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member, ensuring rapid and effective response to incidents and safety emergencies;
• Support shutdowns, emergency callouts, and weekend/holiday work when necessary;
• Must be able to work in shift-based schedules, including day, night, and weekend shifts;
• Must have knowledge of SAP;

Work commencement : December 2025.

Plant location : Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical or others).
• Minimum 3‑years of working experience in a related field.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process‑related issues.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Candidates who possess CePIETSO certification or recognized electrical competency will be an added advantage.
