Job description
Key Job Responsibilities

A. Administrative

  • Contribute to the smooth operations of the unit within the limit of the unit budget.
  • Assist in the planning of the budget and the staffing requirements.
  • Assist in tracking the fixed asset utilization rates, inventory / holding costs / operational expenses so that budgeted profitability are achieved.

B. Render Professional Diagnostic Radiology and other Nuclear Medicine Services

  • Ensure availability of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals for the smooth running of nuclear medicine activities.
  • Perform daily check to ensure accuracy of measurement of radioactivity by the dose calibrator.
  • Ensure proper radiopharmaceutical administration in form, dosage and route, either orally, intravenously or through inhalation.
  • Perform daily routine quality control testing on gamma camera & PET/CT to ensure optimal functioning before carrying out imaging procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling and maintenance of gamma camera & PET/CT.
  • Perform organ imaging with established protocols on:
    • Cardiovascular, skeletal, urinary, endocrine, gastro‑intestinal, central nervous and pulmonary system.
    • Tumour and infection.
  • Perform organ specific processing, analyze the collected data and prepare resultant images and results for Nuclear Medicine Physician to interpret and report.
  • Perform oncology CT simulation in accordance with the policies and procedures applicable to CT simulator room.
  • Assist Nuclear Medicine Physician, Radiologist, Cardiologist and Specialist in special procedures.
  • Assist Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist / Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine Procedures.
  • Carry out post processing of images according to instructions from the Nuclear Medicine Physician, Radiologist and Cardiologist.
  • Ensure patient identification and checking of required documents are carried out before proceeding with procedures.
  • Carries out code of practice for radiation protection.
  • Assist in day to day running of the centre & coordination of activities of the centre with other departments to ensure efficient service is delivered.
Job Requirements
  • Possess recognized diploma or university degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Ability to carry out diagnostic & therapy (PET/CT, MSCT and Nuclear Medicine) and oncology (CT simulation) procedures professionally.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in hospitals with advanced imaging and Nuclear Medicine Technology & facilities.
  • Registered member of the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC).
