About the role

HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD is seeking a motivated and talented NodeJS Developer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and test a large-scale, custom distributed software system using latest Java, Node.JS, Kafka & cloud technologies
• Employ agile development practices including test and deployment automation as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery to improve overall execution speed and product quality.
• Function as in-house consultant/expert for resolution of complex technical issues. Research emerging trends/best practices and determine implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy
• Be a technology advocate and share expertise with other team members.
• Be a key partner to the business and the rest of the team throughout the delivery cycle.
• Think through challenging and interesting problems and solve them with your team.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of proven experience
• Hands‑on development and delivery experience using Node.JS
• Experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka
• Experience in Cloud Computing (AWS)
• Experience in SQL, NoSQL
• Experience in DevOps capabilities E.g. Jenkins, Maven, GIT, etc
• Real passion for software engineering and best practices
• Passion for technology, team leadership and a willingness to mentor and work with developers at all levels of experience
• Experience in Agile , Lean and/or Continuous Delivery approach such as Continuous Integration, TDD, infrastructure as code
• Experience with Elastic Search
• Experience in Transfer Agency business
• In addition of having clear development skills, any experience in supporting production to business users would be very appreciated.
• Work experience in Finance, banking or insurance industry is preferred.
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team and with business.
