PV Operations Officer

Job Summary

The PV Operations Officer is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of PV (Payment Verification) processes within United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of payment-related activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute daily PV operations, including verification of payment instructions, reconciliation of accounts, and processing of payment transactions.
  • Ensure all payment verifications are conducted in strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payment processing, collaborating with internal departments and external parties as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all PV activities, transactions, and resolutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to PV operations, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of new systems, processes, or product enhancements related to payment verification.
  • Support audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to PV operations.
  • Adhere to all anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) protocols. Proactively identify and escalat[e] any potential risks or operational issues to management.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in banking operations, preferably in payment processing, trade finance, or back‑office functions.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, Swift messages, and banking regulations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in processing information.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with UOB's internal systems and procedures will be an added advantage.
