Job description

Mayang Muara Sdn Bhd, a leading provider of facilities management services, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician cum Handyman to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This full-time position is a vital role that will contribute to the smooth running and maintenance of our client's facilities.

What you'll be doing

1. Operation & Maintenance
   • Perform regular inspection, servicing, and repair of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, HVAC systems, compressors, water supply systems, and fire protection systems.
   • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
   • Assist in testing and commissioning of new installations or refurbished systems.
2. Facilities Support
   • Monitor mechanical systems to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
   • Support improvement, optimization, and energy‑saving initiatives for building mechanical operations.
   • Carry out minor fabrication, welding, and mechanical fitting tasks when required.
3. Safety & Compliance
   • Adhere to all SOPs, safety guidelines, and statutory regulations.
   • Conduct routine checks on safety equipment such as fire pumps, sprinklers, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
   • Report faults, hazards, or unsafe practices to supervisors promptly.
4. Documentation & Reporting
   • Maintain accurate maintenance records using logbooks or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
   • Prepare reports on breakdowns, repairs, parts replacement, and maintenance activities.
   • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and material requisitions.
5. Teamwork & Coordination
   • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and M&E technicians for integrated facility support.
   • Supervise and monitor contractors/vendors performing specialized mechanical works.
   • Provide technical support during facility audits and inspections.
