💆♂️ Core Massage Therapist Duties

1. Client Consultation & Assessment

• Talk with clients about their symptoms, medical history, pain points, and goals before the session.
• Evaluate physical condition like tense muscles, range of motion, and areas needing focus.
• Design a personalized massage plan tailored to each client’s needs.

2. Performing Massage Treatments

• Provide therapeutic massages using various techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, or traditional methods.
• Apply pressure to muscles and soft tissues to relieve stress, reduce pain, and promote relaxation.
• Adjust pressure and technique during the session according to client feedback.

3. Client Education & Wellness Advice

• Guide clients on stretching, strengthening exercises, posture improvement, and self-care to maintain wellness between sessions.
• Recommend suitable massage schedules or additional wellness services.

4. Record-Keeping & Professionalism

• Keep accurate, confidential records of each treatment and client progress.
• Maintain professional behaviour, appearance, and good communication skills with clients and colleagues.

5. Treatment Area Prep & Hygiene

• Clean and sanitize massage tables, equipment, and linens before and after each client.
• Set up the massage room with fresh towels, oils, and supplies and restock as needed.

6. Follow Health & Safety Standards

• Adhere to workplace health guidelines and company protocol for client safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Ensure clients are comfortably draped and positioned during treatments.

7. Scheduling & Admin Tasks

Help manage appointments and discuss service options with customers at reception or by phone.

8. Support Team & Sales

• Assist front-desk or support staff when needed, and may promote spa products or services.
• Sometimes assist with basic laundry, cleaning, or spa housekeeping duties.
