Job summary

A leading medical device company in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering support, ensure product quality, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Sciences, strong interpersonal skills, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical device manufacturing. You'll work with production to enhance metrics like yield and productivity, while also providing technical support and coordination of operations.

Qualifications

  • Practical hands-on experience with equipment and supporting production lines.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in medical device manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Good command of English is essential.

Job description

Working under general supervision, provides manufacturing engineering support and is responsible for high quality and yield.

Reviews and resolves issues impacting final product such as documentation, material, process and equipment.

Exercises technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work.

Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

Provides technical support and resources to production, vendors, suppliers and source inspection.

Provides in depth feedback reports to management on failure modes and corrective actions.

Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Responsible for providing technical support for different processes and equipment to manufacturing to ensure high quality and yield.

Responsible for process improvements, evaluate and provide solution to selected processes.

Work with manufacturing to improve manufacturing metrics that includes yield, productivity, lead-time etc.

Perform and participates in engineering evaluations and equipment/process validations.

Support new product transfer, product qualification and line setup.

Requirement

Degree in Engineering, Sciences or equivalent.

Practical hands-on experience with equipment and supporting the production lines.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Ability to build strong professional networks with overseas counterparts.

Good interpersonal and communications skills.

Good command of English essential.

Working experience with minimum 2 years in relevant medical device manufacturing fields would added advantages.
