Our client is one of the top specialized geoscience software, cutting‑edge cloud solutions and world‑class consulting services organization in the world. They are on a journey to becoming a true global tech powerhouse for the Energy sector and requires a Managing Director for the Asia and Middle East region. The position is required to be based in Malaysia.

As Managing Director, the person will provide strategic leadership to a fast‑growing business region, where it is the home to some of their largest international customers, where continued success and deepening client relationships is integral to their growth strategy. The focus will be to drive top and bottom‑line growth across their product and service offerings, while ensuring that they consistently provide customer excellence in our regional deliveries.

  • As regional manager, you will report to their Chief International Operations Officer. You will be accountable for:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the people in the organization in Asia and Middle East.
  • Be an executive sponsor to larger customers in the region and actively contribute to business development.
  • Oversee customers deliveries in the region, ensuring proactiviteness in meeting client demands while continuously enhancing operational excellence.
  • Own the P/L of the region and ensure good financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Define and execute strategic priorities that drive regional growth in alignment with the organization’s overall strategy.
  • Develop and implement talent and people strategies that support company growth objectives.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience working within or towards the oil and gas sector, especially the E&P segment, with a robust network of industry contacts in the Asia and Middle East region.
  • Solid understanding of modern IT operations and how cloud technology can improve workflows within the Geology & Geophysics domain.
  • Excellent and proven track record of client engagements and closing of deals.
  • Proven experience doing business development, partnerships and managing customers at C-suite and operational levels in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Outstanding communication skills, who loves to create positive energy and naturally builds and nurtures relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong sense business value and able to use that sense to benefit customers and the business.
  • Good commercial experience in high-performing technology organizations serving in the energy domain.
  • Results‑oriented, self‑motivated, a team player, determined and confident with significant interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding leadership, collaboration and people skills.
  • Experience working in an international matrix organization is highly beneficial.
  • A relevant degree within IT, Business or Geoscience is beneficial.
