Job Summary
The Manager of Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading and overseeing the recruitment and hiring process for faculty, staff, and administrative positions at the university. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their staffing needs, developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, and ensuring a positive and inclusive candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with university leadership to understand and anticipate staffing needs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with the university's goals and values.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition.
Recruitment Process Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, from job requisition to onboarding.
- Work with hiring managers to define job requirements, create job descriptions, and establish selection criteria.
- Utilize various sourcing methods to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate interview processes.
- Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, if necessary.
Candidate Experience:
- Ensure a positive and inclusive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the candidate experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with candidates, providing timely and transparent communication.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand their unique recruitment needs.
- Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to provide updates on the status of open positions.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure alignment with broader HR strategies and policies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data and analytics to track and measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
- Generate regular reports on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and diversity metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other HR software.
