Job description

This role is responsible for driving institutional business growth for MIM Malaysia by identifying sales opportunities and developing relationships with institutional clients and consultants.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and cultivates prospects and/or clients
  • Follow up on new business meetings and close sales with institutional investors and consultants.
  • Acts as a resource to clients by delivering detailed knowledge and a solid understanding of the investment strategies used by various portfolio managers within Manulife Investment Management
  • Assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) in collaboration with product, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Manage follow-ups and action items with institutional clients by collaborating with the Client Servicing team and internal stakeholders.
  • Increase awareness and enhance the brand name of Manulife Investment Management.
  • Maintain relationships with portfolio managers, sales, client services, legal, and other key personnel in the Investment Division to facilitate the successful sale of institutional products.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales business development, sales support, or a similar role within investment management or financial services.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking skills to manage multiple inquiries and requests simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and resilience under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player with initiative and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in desktop applications, especially Adobe and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and close sales/relationship opportunities with clients and prospects.
