Overview
- Overall in-charge of Plant Electrical Maintenance Section on the day-to-day maintenance activities including the scheduled and unscheduled work.
- To ensure no disruption to plant operation during maintenance activities.
- To guide, develop, and supervise the engineers and supervisor to accomplish effective maintenance activities.
- To plan, prepare, and manage section’s annual budget requirement.
- To conform to statutory legal regulatory and legislation requirements such as OSHA, FMA, Employment Act, Electricity Supply Act 1994, ISO 9001/14001/OSHAS 18001 and etc.
Responsibilities and Duties
Routine and Outage Plant Maintenance Scope
- Supervise and coordinate subordinates (supervisor and engineers) to perform maintenance work (corrective maintenance (“CM”), preventive maintenance (“PM”) and outage maintenance).
- Guide the subordinate during the preparation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) which describes the procedures involved in conducting and managing site’s electrical activities.
- Attend and guide electrical work coordination with the technicians during a daily meeting at site.
- Plan, organize and implement scheduled outage inspection and maintenance work as per Station’s outage program.
- Communicate with the other department to execute the maintenance and outage work.
- Liaise and work closely with the contractors, suppliers, OEM specialist or other external party to execute the work plan at a given period.
- Equipment and system under electrical maintenance responsibilities such as but not limited to:
- Generator including the generator auxiliary system
- Power transformer mainly Generator Transformer, Unit Auxiliary Transformer, Excitation Transformer and other plant auxiliary transformer
- Transformer-Rectifiers
- Switchgears including cast‑resin (dry‑type) transformer, vacuum circuit (vcb) breaker, air circuit breaker (acb), motor control centre (mcc) – rated from 415Vac to 11000Vac
- Electric motor – range from 11kVac to 415Vac including 220Vdc
- Uninterruptable- Power System (UPS) and Battery System
- Isolated-Phase-Busduct (IPB) and Non‑segregated Phase Busduct (NPB)
- Electrical maintenance jurisdiction is limit to main plant (Unit 10, Unit 20 including Boiler and Turbine) as well as the balance‑of‑plant (ESP, ECP, WTP, WWTP, AHS) excluding Coal Handling Plant, Interconnection Facilities (500kV Substation), M&E System.
Budget & Procurement Management Scope
- Identify and forecast ongoing spare parts requirement and ensure an adequate safety stock level to avoid operations and machinery downtime.
- Identify maintenance services and coordinate all purchases according to the procurement policies, procedures and compliant to the limit of authority (LOA).
- Prepare the section budget related matter.
- Prepare and evaluate technical requirements for procurement activities.
Electrical‑Based Assignments and Activities Scope
- Prepare plant CM and outage work reports, incident reports, and compile the technician maintenance reports for documentation and data tracking purposes.
- Plan and execute Plant improvement project that involve CAPEX.
Spare Parts Inventory Scope
- Managing critical spare parts to ensure an adequate safety stock level to avoid operations and machinery downtime.
Inter‑Departmental Supporting Services Scope
- Provide inter‑departmental support as and when required.
Other Tasks
- Perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification and Competency (License)
- Degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering from a recognized university / higher learning institution.
- Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:
- Electrical Competent Engineer (JEK).
- Authorized Entrant and Standby Person (AESP).
Work Experience
- Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:
- 8 years working experience with at least 2 years in managerial position.
- Experience on maintenance of electrical systems including but not limited to generator, transformer, motor, switchgear and others related.
- Knowledge in coal fired power plant operations and maintenance.
