Position: Manager, Compliance and Risk Management

Location: Selangor, Malaysia | On-site

Language Requirement: Able to read and understand English and Chinese documents

Scope: Supports both Singapore and Malaysia compliance matters

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a licensed corporate service provider, and are seeking an experienced AML & KYC Compliance Specialist to support the Group's anti-money laundering and know-your-customer requirements across Singapore and Malaysia.

This role will be responsible for day-to-day AML/KYC screening and ongoing monitoring, while also supporting senior management in regulatory oversight, compliance alignment, and staff training. You will work closely with cross-border teams to ensure consistent compliance standards across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor regulatory developments in both Singapore and Malaysia; assess their impact and drive implementation of required changes.
  • Support business heads to be in compliance with local laws, industry guidelines, internal policies, and group directives across both jurisdictions.
  • Perform day-to-day AML and KYC screenings for regulated businesses and ongoing AML monitoring in accordance with risk policies and guidelines.
  • Guide and supervise junior compliance team members in the collective AML and Screening work
  • Advise and recommend STR filings based on risk matters, news, and sanctioned lists
  • Prepare and coordinate regulatory submissions and reporting for both countries.
  • Support and lead compliance audits, inspections, and internal reviews that span SG and MY operations.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
  • Identify cross-border compliance risks and propose practical mitigation measures.
  • Maintain and strengthen compliance frameworks, policies, and control processes applicable to both jurisdictions.
  • Conduct investigations into potential regulatory breaches or misconduct.
Training & Advisory
  • Support in the development and delivery of compliance trainings such as annual AML and KYC, to SG and MY offices.
  • Support in providing guidance to management and staff on compliance requirements, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Cross-Border Collaboration
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of compliance standards across both countries.
  • Support cross-border projects and initiatives, ensuring compliance requirements are met across Singapore and Malaysia operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–8 years (Manager) / 8–12 years (Senior Manager) of compliance or regulatory experience, ideally covering multi-jurisdictional work.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore and Malaysia regulatory frameworks (e.g., ACRA, MAS, PDPA-SG; SSM, BNM, SC, PDPA-MY).
  • Ability to read and understand Chinese documents; written proficiency is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Independent, structured, and able to handle cross-border responsibilities confidently.
  • High level of integrity and sound judgment.
  • Willingness to perform ground work to investigate information and corroborate information
  • Strong sense of professional skepticism
Salary

The salary offered ranges between RM7,000 and RM10,000.
