Job description

Supervise and coordinate the activities of machinists and machine operators to ensure production schedules are met.

Monitor machining processes to ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained.

Schedule and assign work to machine operators and ensure proper machine setup.

Inspect finished products to detect defects and ensure compliance with technical drawings and quality standards.

Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve skills and productivity.

Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and procedures.

Troubleshoot machining problems and provide technical guidance to the team.

Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issues.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, scrap rate, and downtime.

Manage maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and prolong machine life.

Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.

Prepare production reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in machining operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC and conventional machining processes and equipment.
  • Familiarity with machining tools, measuring instruments, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
