A logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to manage logistics operations, including import and export processes. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and a strong understanding of customs regulations. This role involves ensuring efficient coordination of transport, managing inventory and warehouse operations, and preparing logistics reports. The position requires strong negotiation skills and proficiency in logistics software.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor end-to-end logistics activities, including local and international transportation, warehousing, and delivery.
Ensure timely arrangement, tracking, and completion of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Implement and maintain SOPs to ensure accuracy, traceability, and efficiency in logistics operations.
Handle full import and export documentation, including customs declarations, shipping instructions, BL/AWB, packing list, commercial invoice, and other required documents.
Liaise with forwarding agents, customs brokers, MITI, port authorities, and government agencies for smooth shipment clearance.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian customs regulations and international trade requirements.
Monitor import/export schedules and proactively resolve clearance delays or documentation issues.
Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, couriers, and shipping providers for both local and overseas deliveries.
Monitor transport schedules, fleet safety, and delivery timelines; handle transport-related incidents, claims, or discrepancies.
Evaluate freight rates, service terms, and maintain strong working relationships with logistics vendors.
Manage inventory movement between warehouse, production, and customer locations.
Ensure proper warehouse operations, including storage, handling, FIFO, labeling, and stock accuracy.
Conduct periodic stock counts and investigate discrepancies to prevent stock losses.
Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure material availability for smooth operations.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly logistics reports such as shipment status, import/export summary, and cost tracking.
Monitor logistics costs and propose initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend workable process improvements.
Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, import/export, freight management, or supply chain operations.
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, MITI processes, and international shipping documentation.
Ability to manage multiple shipments, tight timelines, and high-volume operations independently.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics-related systems/software.
