Job description

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including supplier agreements, franchise agreements, distributor agreements, partnership collaborations, and service contracts.

Ensure that contracts protect the company’s commercial interests while minimizing legal risks.

2. Intellectual Property & Brand Protection

Manage trademark applications, renewals, oppositions, and infringements (domestic and international).

Monitor and take action against counterfeit or unauthorized use of the company’s brand.

Advise on copyright, design rights, and licensing issues related to fashion collections and campaigns.

3. Leasing & Retail Operations

Review and negotiate commercial lease agreements with malls, landlords, and retail spaces.

Advise on tenancy matters, renewal terms, and dispute resolution with landlords.

Ensure compliance with mall or retail operational requirements.

4. Compliance & Corporate Governance

Ensure compliance with company law, employment law, consumer protection, and data privacy regulations.

Assist in drafting and updating company policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.

Liaise with regulatory authorities, external counsel, and auditors when required.

5. Employment & HR Matters

Provide legal input on HR policies, staff contracts, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures.

Ensure compliance with labour laws and employment regulations.

Manage disputes with suppliers, customers, landlords, or other third parties.

Coordinate with external lawyers for litigation or arbitration when necessary.

Advise management on potential legal risks and propose solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and preferably admitted to practice (for Lawyer).

For Legal Executive role: Diploma/Degree in Law or Paralegal qualification with relevant experience.

1–3years’ experience in corporate, commercial, or IP law (experience in retail/FMCG/fashion industry preferred).

Strong knowledge of contract law, intellectual property, employment law, and commercial leasing.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Business-minded with ability to balance legal risk and commercial practicality.
