Job summary

A construction management firm in Seremban is seeking an experienced Inspector of Work for architectural and ID projects. The role requires overseeing the supervision and monitoring of construction, ensuring quality and compliance with specifications. Candidates must possess a diploma in Architecture or Interior Design, be registered as an Architectural Inspector with Board of Architects Malaysia, and have at least 5 years of site supervision experience, preferably in medical facilities. Employment will be on a contract basis.

Job description

INSPECTOR OF WORK FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND ID WORKS

Private Hospital in Seremban requires suitable candidates to fulfill the followings:

• Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of construction works in accordance with the contracts and construction drawings especially in respect of specifications, quality and time of completion;
• To inspect and monitor at all times each stage of construction of architectural and ID works in relation to piling, structural works, mechanical and electrical works, external works and the infrastructure works;
• To ensure that all materials delivered to site conform to the approved specifications and the project’s inspection test plan;
• To check setting out, alignment, dimensions and levels of works before, during after construction;
• To identify all remedial/outstanding works to be carried out and to ensure that those works are carried out by the contractors within the time stipulated in the contracts;
• To regularly report to relevant superiors on the progress of the works and the problem areas encountered, especially in respect of defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works;
• To witness and record testing and mock up inspections as required;
• To maintain proper documentation of inspection reports, site records and photographic evidence;
• To keep all relevant forms, documents, correspondence and records in respect of the progress works such as daily work record which encompasses labour force, machinery and weather records;
• Upon completion for work, to carry out final inspections and handovers including ensuring that all as built drawings are prepared and a copy kept with relevant superiors prior to issuance of certificate of practical completion;
• To control all relevant project documents and data;

Project site shall be in Seremban.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess at least a Diploma in Architecture/Interior Design or related field;
• Candidate must be registered with Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia) as Architectural Inspector of Works;
• At least 5 years working experience in site supervision, preferable in medical facilities;
• Initiative and able to work independently with high attention to detail and minimum supervision;
• High level of integrity and willing to work long hours;
• Salary request shall be all in as there will be no further provision for site allowance;
• Employment will be on contract basis.
