A leading educational institution in Malaysia is seeking an experienced academic leader to oversee pre-university programmes. The role involves managing curriculum delivery, ensuring quality assurance, and enhancing student experiences. Lead the planning, implementation, and review of pre-university academic programmes.
Ensure curriculum delivery, assessments, and learning outcomes comply with institutional standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee academic quality assurance, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and manage the academic calendar, ensuring alignment with institutional timelines and regulatory requirements.
Oversee staff timetabling, teaching allocations, and workload planning to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Monitor teaching hours, class scheduling, and academic staffing requirements.
Coordinate examinations, assessments, and academic reporting schedules.
Manage day-to-day operations of the Pre-University Centre.
Lead, mentor, and appraise academic and administrative staff.
Support staff development, training, and succession planning.
Ensure effective communication and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
Ensure effective academic advising, monitoring of student progression, and retention strategies.
Oversee student activities, co-curricular programmes, and enrichment initiatives to enhance student engagement and holistic development.
Address student academic issues, appeals, and disciplinary matters in accordance with institutional policies.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Strengthen and manage education pathways from Foundation to Degree programmes, ensuring smooth student transition.
Collaborate with faculties to align pre-university curricula with undergraduate requirements.
Support the development of continuous education and academic progression strategies.
Work closely with admissions, marketing, and sales teams to support student recruitment, enrolment targets, and business growth.
Participate in recruitment activities such as open days, school visits, briefings, and education fairs.
Contribute to marketing strategies, programme positioning, and market competitiveness.
Monitor enrolment trends and provide input on growth planning and sustainability.
Contribute to institutional strategic and manpower planning.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise staffing and resources.
Represent the Pre-University Centre in internal committees and external engagements.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Prepare and present reports on academic performance, staffing, student outcomes, and enrolment trends to management.
Master’s degree or PhD in Education or a relevant discipline.
Professional teaching qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience, preferably in pre-university or secondary education.
At least 3–5 years in an academic leadership or management role.
Experience in academic operations, timetabling, student recruitment, and pathway development is highly desirable.
Strong academic leadership and people management skills.
Proven ability to manage academic calendars and staff timetables.
Good understanding of student recruitment, sales processes, and education business growth.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strategic thinking with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
