This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Head of Art to join our growing team. The main responsibilities of the post will include:

Responsibilities
  • teaching art at GCSE and A Level;
  • teaching lower secondary art;
  • lead the Art Department activities as required;
  • lead the administration of the department;
  • working as part of a cohesive departmental team and sharing fully in the work of the department;
  • helping to promote and encourage the study of art at RGSKL.
Qualifications
  • A UK or Internationally recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A bachelor’s degree in Art or a related field.
Experience
  • Experience working in a British Secondary School, British International Secondary Schools or with the British curriculum.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and be able to demonstrate a high level of subject expertise.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of the subject/s being taught and a good understanding of GCSE/A-level requirements.
  • Effective classroom management with an ability to manage the class and resources effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students, as well as collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Competence in assessing student progress, using data to inform teaching, and providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles
