Job description

Graduate Trainee – Associate Mechanical Design Engineer

• Support the design related activities for the products produced in VAT Malaysia.
• Prepare 3D model, drawing and Bill of Material (BOM) for product design, assembly fixture and test fixture.
• Prepare the technical documents and work instructions.
• Support FEA simulation activities for products manufactured in VAT Malaysia, including:
• Gain familiarity with VATMY products through product training and on-the-job design tasks.
• Perform simulation activities with a focus on structural and thermal analysis

Graduate Trainee – Test Lab

• Work together with groups of subject matter experts from Malaysia and Switzerland in exploring phases of Smart Valve development.
• Proactively involve and contribute to design phase, evaluation, and qualification while delivering high commitment in technical discussions, test setups and data analysis.
• Responsibly owns mini projects by understanding components capacity, progress situation, challenge & opportunity.

Graduate Trainee - EE HW Controller

• Responsible for the Industrialization-design of new developed or re-designed products produced in Malaysia and supporting design related activities throughout the product life cycle of selected valve series.
• Responsible for the controller components (electrical & electronic hardware as well as the software & parameter file) in a new product development such as stepper/servo motor, encoder, position indicator, wiring board, drive parameter, configuration file and so on.
• Controller customization which includes the bill of material (BOM) preparation and the software package preparation.

Graduate Trainee - System & Control

• Responsible as a system and control expertise to close the mechatronics technical gap of field application engineer and customer (product optimization, issue simulation, knowledge transfer to key stakeholder).
• Support production in electrical hardware and software topics especially drive, control and sensor related.
• 2nd level support for field application engineering on mechatronic issues from customers.
• Collaboration with test lab in product qualification, measurement, and testing.

Graduate Trainee – High Purity Specialist

• Perform professional engineering evaluations and qualifications of VAT suppliers for surface treatments including high-purity cleaning, anodizing, plating, and micro-contamination control
• Ability to review and understand international standards, VAT-specific standards and customer standards related to material composition, mechanical properties, surface treatment processes and high purity cleaning processes
• Ability to review and understand product requirements for problem solving and decision-making when quality issues arise

Graduate Trainee – Materials Specialist

• Perform professional engineering evaluations and qualifications of VAT suppliers for surface treatments including high-purity cleaning, anodizing, plating, and micro-contamination control
• Ability to review and understand international standards, VAT-specific standards and customer standards related to aluminium alloy production, stainless steel production, heat treatment processes, material composition, mechanical properties, surface treatment processes and critical process requirements
• Ability to review and understand product requirements for problem solving and decision-making when quality issues arise

Graduate Trainee – Process Engineer (Test)

• Improve and standardize assembly and test troubleshooting methods to enhance process efficiency, quality and safety
• Engage in problem solving activities, implement corrective actions and effectively communicate those actions to all required personnel.
• Provide technical support to production for troubleshooting of daily assembly and test process failures, investigate the root cause and establish corrective / preventive actions.
