A global services firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Shared Services Center Financial Specialist III to oversee day-to-day operations of the finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant experience, strong skills in managing accounts, and proficiency in financial reporting. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving process improvements. Excellent communication skills, including Mandarin or Japanese, are a plus.

Qualifications

Job Description

The Finance Shared Services Center Financial Specialist III will assist the team Manager in overseeing and supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the finance shared services team, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of financial services. This role combines hands‑on accounting tasks with team coordination, workload monitoring, and process improvement efforts to uphold financial integrity and support smooth business operationsp>

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the shared services center, ensuring the timely processing of financial transactions.
    • Ensure financial processes align with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify, monitor, and elevate any operational issues affecting the finance department.
    • Step in when necessary to support the team in meeting deadlines.
  • Accounts Payable, Receivable & General Ledger:
    • Monitor the team’s processing of invoices, payments, and journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
    • Oversee account reconciliations and month‑end close activities, providing support when needed.
  • Reconciliation & Financial Reporting:
    • Supervise reconciliations and reporting deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation as required.
  • Audit & Compliance:
    • Lead audit readiness efforts and monitor compliance with internal controls and regulations.
    • Guide the team on policy adherence and assist in resolving compliance issues.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding finance services.
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., IT, HR, OGC, Marketing) to ensure seamless operations.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and third‑party service providers as necessary.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency:
    • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
    • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the shared services team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or shared services.
  • Strong experience in managing full set of accounts, with in‑depth knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience in leading teams or projects and contributing to process improvements.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Mandarin or Japan language capability is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
  • Adaptable and responsive to evolving business needs.
