Overview
The primary responsibility of the Financial Manager is to oversee and perform various financial functions related to the collection, accuracy, recording, analysis, and presentation of a business's financial operations. This role will involve managing financial statements, reports, budgets, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
Specific job duties and responsibilities
- Manage, prepare, and analyze consolidated financial statements for the group
- Preparation and involvement in IPO process for the company
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for public announcement in future
- Analyze actual financial performance against budgets and previous years, providing explanations for variances using supporting facts and figures.
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual report, working closely with the company secretary and printing house.
- Support the Corporate Finance team in preparing announcements, board papers, forecasts, and corporate presentations, and actively participate in financing transactions.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls to maintain financial security.
- Provide recommendations on financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Research and interpret accounting policies and regulations to address accounting procedure queries.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in corporate governance, continuous disclosure, shareholder meetings, substantial shareholders, and tracing.
- Regularly report financials to the CFO/Board.
- Handle ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned.
- Capable for public presentation
Job requirements
Educational/Professional Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, or finance.
- Any recognized professional accounting bodies in Malaysia. (MIA)
Work experience
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in accounting/finance.
- Familiarity with financial reporting requirements and consolidation.
- Experience in M&A, Fund Raising projects
Language skills
- Proficiency in BM, English, and Chinese to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking counterparts and business partners.
Skills and competencies
