A non-profit organization seeks an experienced finance professional to manage financial reporting and compliance. The role requires preparing monthly and annual financial statements, maintaining accounting records using appropriate software, and ensuring adherence to Malaysian financial regulations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills are essential. This position is located in Selangor, Malaysia.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)
Maintain accurate accounting records using accounting software (preferably Xero or similar)
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow management
Prepare budget vs. actual variance reports and financial analysis
Assist in annual audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors

Maintain accurate accounting records using accounting software (preferably Xero or similar)
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow management
Prepare budget vs. actual variance reports and financial analysis
Assist in annual audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors
Ensure compliance with Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) requirements for non-profit organizations
Prepare and submit statutory returns including Form 24, Form 44, and annual returns
Maintain compliance with Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) tax obligations
Handle GST/SST filing and compliance as applicable
Ensure adherence to Registrar of Societies (ROS) regulations if applicable
Track and report on restricted and unrestricted funds
Maintain detailed records of grant expenditures and compliance requirements
Prepare donor reports and grant acquittals as required
Support grant application processes with financial documentation
Implement internal controls for fund utilization and reporting
Support annual budgeting and financial planning processes
Assist in developing financial policies and procedures
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
Process petty cash and expense reimbursements
Support board meetings with financial reports and presentations
Collaborate with program teams on project financial management
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting/finance roles
Experience in non-profit or NGO sector highly preferred
Any professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, MIA, or equivalent) is advantage
Proficiency in accounting software
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modeling is advantage
Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS) and tax regulations
Understanding of non-profit accounting principles and fund accounting
Familiarity with grant management and compliance requirements
