Job summary

A leading glove manufacturing company based in Selama, Malaysia, is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee the design and construction of new facilities as well as manage and maintain building systems. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 3 years of working experience. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing budgets, and implementing energy efficiency programs. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

Job description

Oversee the design and construction of new facilities or renovations, ensuring they are functional, safe and efficient

Manage and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. This includes developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans

Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all facility systems and equipment, often specializing in areas like electrical substations, chiller, compressor and solar system

Manage budgets, coordinate timelines, and supervise staff for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects

Ensure that all facilities and operations comply with relevant safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards

Analyze energy consumption and implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction programs or upgrading equipment

Identify and solve operational and equipment-related issues to keep the facility running smoothly

To provide support to production if there is any troubleshooting required

To liaise with local authority for project paper submissions, utility interruption issues and etc.

What we're looking for
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil)
  • At least 3 years working experience

  • Project management experience and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
