Environmental, Safety and Health Technician
The ESH Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and execution of Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) programs at the plant level. (6 months contract)
Responsibilities
- Safety & Health Operations: Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections, hazard identification, and unsafe act/condition reporting.
- Safety & Health Operations: Monitor compliance with safety rules, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
- Safety & Health Operations: Assist in incident, accident, near-miss investigations and support root cause analysis.
- Safety & Health Operations: Implement and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Safety & Health Operations: Maintain safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, spill kits, eyewash stations, and first-aid boxes.
- Safety & Health Operations: Support emergency response activities, drills, and evacuation exercises.
- Safety & Health Operations: Assist in contractor safety monitoring and permit-to-work activities.
- Safety & Health Operations: Perform routine checks on scheduled waste storage areas, labeling, and segregation.
- Safety & Health Operations: Support environmental compliance activities such as effluent monitoring, air emission checks, and noise monitoring.
- Documentation & Reporting: Update and maintain ESH records, checklists, inspection reports, and registers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Support coordination with regulatory bodies (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, Local Authority) as required.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain filing system for all ESH-related documents.
- Documentation & Reporting: Provide general administrative support to the ESH department.
- Documentation & Reporting: Assist in conducting safety induction, toolbox talks, and ESH briefings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Support ESH campaigns and awareness programs within the plant.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Certificate / Diploma in Safety & Health, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or related field.
- 1-2 years’ experience in ESH field.
- Experience in manufacturing is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA, EQA & BOMBA requirements.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
