About the role

Autowell (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer to join our growing team in Shah Alam, Selangor. In this full‑time role, you will play a crucial part in the successful development and launch of our latest products. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring our new offerings meet stringent quality standards and customer requirements.

What you’ll be doing
  • Project Planning and Management: Break down the entire process of new product introduction into executable sub‑tasks, define task logic relationships, responsible persons, and timelines to form a complete project management plan.
  • Project Resource Integration and Coordination: Oversee the resource requirements of equipment, manpower, and materials for the project; coordinate internal and external resources (including suppliers and partners) to resolve technical and production bottlenecks effectively.
  • Project Communication: Lead the formation of a cross‑functional team that includes R&D, production, quality, procurement, process, planning, logistics, and warehousing departments across domestic and international units. Define responsibilities and skill requirements for each function and promote an efficient collaboration mechanism.
  • Project Execution and Monitoring: Track the progress of sub‑tasks through regular project meetings and on‑site inspections; coordinate to resolve delays and ensure the project progresses as planned. Oversee key stages including R&D drawing conversion, raw material procurement, manufacturing, and quality inspection, quickly identifying and addressing production bottlenecks or process anomalies.
  • Quality and Risk Control: Identify potential risks in each stage of the new product introduction (e.g., process abnormalities, equipment failures, supply chain delays), develop improvement actions (e.g., process optimization, equipment upgrades), and implement contingency plans. Continuously monitor risk evolution to ensure major risks do not impact the project.
  • Experience Consolidation and Knowledge Management: Organize full‑cycle project reviews to summarize successes and areas for improvement, develop standardized management protocols, SOPs, and technical documents. Promote the sharing of standardized files within the team to provide reusable templates for future projects. Lead the mass production handover process and continue to follow up on optimization during the production phase.
What we’re looking for
Educational Background

Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or other related fields.

Industry Experience

0–5 years’ experience in project management or order fulfillment management.

Language Proficiency

Good command of English in speaking, reading, and writing.

Core Skills Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Familiar with basic mechanical/electrical knowledge, able to read work instructions and BOMs proficiently, and skilled in software tools such as SAP, Office, and CAD.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Strong structured thinking and resource allocation capabilities, able to efficiently coordinate with departments like R&D, Procurement, and Production.
  • Problem Solving: Proficient in using tools like 5Why Analysis and Fishbone Diagrams to quickly identify root causes of production issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Professional Qualities: Highly responsible and able to perform efficiently under pressure in multitasking environments. Detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills (e.g., SOPs, test reports). Excellent in organization, communication, goal management, logical thinking, and analytical forecasting.
