Job Summary

The Engineer II is responsible to assist in supporting the weldment production build of weldment products on the manufacturing floor. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the customer qualification, evaluation, process application and adaptation of Manufacturing techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable build and quality standards. Responsible to lead Projects and mentor cross functional team members in manufacturing processes and technology

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Requires a broad knowledge of welding process in semiconductor industries, especially in weldment manufacturing process.
  • Experienced with SEMI Spec especially in weldment fabrication process.
  • Experienced in establish process for weldment manufacturing process and able to create work instruction for weldment process.
  • Investigate manufacturing related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity.
  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training for CNC bending, CNC Cutting and machining parts
  • Evaluate manufacturing process and create process control plan, PFMEA and Risk assessment.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide corrective solutions and must comply to POR and CE! Compliance.
  • Work with Manufacturing, equipment and Quality department to drive Continuous improvement on quality, efficiency and manufacturing cycle time.
  • Initiate and support Design for Excellence and manufacturing process improvement / standardization.
  • Engage with IE to optimize layout and product layout floor for new and existing plants.
  • Implement Lean line using DFT concept with relevant Jig and Fixture.
  • Technical solve and support for trouble shooting issue, quality issue, first pass yield issue.
  • Participate in product transfer: Coordinate the team for training, understand the equipment, facility requirement, build and test requirements
  • Liaise and coordinate with Engineering and Material department on spec, BOM and material changes/issues.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Quality department on Supplier quality and Customer quality issue including RCCA, 8D preparation.
  • Liaise with customer for all BOM / drawing / design issue by generating problem report / supplier problem sheet / Supplier request deviation with single page summary.
  • Involve in MRB (Material Review Board) meeting, make justifiable disposition, analyst data and work with relevant departments / suppliers to reduce non-conformance.
  • Must have experienced and understand CAD knowledge to analyst 3D drawing from customer.
  • Initiate Engineering change and waiver for any change required.
  • Working in ERP System for engineering master control and change.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Possess CWI-AWS certificate as Certified Welding Inspector will take as advantages.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Experienced in using ERP System Software
  • Able to interpret Weldment manufacturing drawing with welding symbol and able to develop correct weldment routing process.
  • Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
  • Good Interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in team environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Materials / Metallurgy / Mechanical/ Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering from recognized University.
Experience Requirement
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Exposure to semiconductor industry preferred.
  • Experience on setting up lean line will be very important.
  • Know and able to explore full BOM structure (more than 1,000 line) is needed.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Possesses drive with “can-do” attitude.
  • Capable of developing positive work relationship, a favorable work environment within the team and other functional group
  • Must be able to perform and demonstrate good workmanship understanding according to industrial standard.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.
  • Able to perform any other task assigned by manager / supervisor.
  • Comply to work ethics and integrity.
  • Candidate with Six Sigma Knowledge is a plus
