About the role

Schattdecor Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer of decorative surfaces, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team in Bestari Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical systems within our state‑of‑the‑art production facility.

What you'll be doing

1. Data Management & Reporting

• Downtime Recording: Consistently record and update unplanned machine downtime and scheduled maintenance activities into the SAP system or Excel files at the designated times.
• Technical Communication: Report machine breakdown status and latest updates to the Engineer via official communication channels (e.g., Production Chatgroup).
• Work Feedback: Promptly notify the Engineer if overtime (OT) assignments are completed ahead of the scheduled duration.

2. Operational Procedures & Shift Management

• Shift Handover Session: For technicians on 12‑hour shifts, it is mandatory to obtain an acknowledgment signature from the Shift Supervisor on the Daily Checklist Form before starting the shift to understand current production issues.
• Workstation Presence: Maintain presence at the assigned task location or designated workstation to ensure immediate technical assistance is available to the production team when required.
• Schedule Compliance: Strictly adhere to the shift schedule set by the Engineer. Any shift swaps must be communicated and formally approved by the Engineer in advance.

3. Maintenance & Technical Support

• Mechanical Support: Provide assistance with mechanical maintenance tasks as required to ensure operational continuity.
• Ad-hoc Responsibilities: Perform any other duties or responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor or Management from time to time.

4. Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)

• Protocol Compliance: Ensure all work activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and in strict compliance with all occupational safety and health protocols.
• 5S Practices: Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times before ending a shift (handing over the workspace in a clean condition).

What we're looking for

• A certificate or diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, control panels, and automation equipment
• Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and a keen eye for detail
