Qualifications

Job description

Electrical Engineer (ENGDC Sdn Bhd - Kulai)

Design, review, and develop electrical systems, schematics, layouts, and specifications.

Perform electrical calculations including load, short‑circuit, cable sizing, and protection coordination.

Prepare and review technical drawings, BOQs, and engineering documentation.

Support electrical installation, commissioning, and testing activities.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.

Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and operation.

Maintenance & Operations

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure minimal downtime through effective root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. IEC, IEEE, MS, OSHA).
• Conduct risk assessments, safety reviews, and electrical audits.
• Ensure all work follows company safety policies and procedures.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare technical reports, test records, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain accurate records for drawings, changes, and approvals.
• Support internal and external audits when required.

Requirements

Fluency in Mandarin is preferred for dealing with Mandarin‑speaking clients.

• Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• At least 1 year of O&M experience in data center electrical infrastructure systems, or 3 years or more of electrical equipment O&M experience.
• Familiar with data center O&M systems and processes, and capable of fault diagnosis for various types of data center power distribution equipment.
• Must hold a qualification certificate compliant with Malaysian requirements for operating medium voltage equipment up to 33kV (such as “A Grade” Registered Electrical Technician Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) or Chargeman A2 (PW3) or above).
• Strong sense of responsibility; experience managing O&M teams of more than 5 people, with good management and communication skills.
• Proficient in Office software and CAD. Has basic understanding and experience with DCIM, DCOM, BA, BMS, and SCADA systems.
