Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for plant operations. The role includes managing Electrical maintenance teams, overseeing project execution, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Petrochemical industry. Strong communication skills and troubleshooting knowledge are essential for success in this role.

Job description

Providing technical (Electrical) expertise and assistance to the facilities to ensure smooth running operations

Support Electrical maintenance teams in the daily activities including corrective and preventive action.

Development and execution of Plant Capital Project and act as Project Manager

Participate in Plant Modification Study, Review relevant design by contractor, support the implementation and involved in the execution of work

Assist in pre commission and commissioning of plant equipment and systems

Assist in review and correction of instrument and control equipment failure

Lead and conduct RCFA report on equipment failure.

Provide Electrical engineering support (inclusive of technical services, small projects, plant processes, and equipment trouble shooting, and correction activities) to the manufacturing facilities for supporting continuous operations of the units;

Work on all Electrical aspects of the design, engineering, procuring, and implementation (pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up) of agreed recommendations for plant modifications (projects) to support plant operation and maintenance improvements

Establish, review and maintain up-to-date plant E&I technical specifications to ensure accurate information being used/referred.

Participate, contribute and support the plant HSSE initiatives as necessary to ensure a safe workplace.

To provide engineering advise and expertise to the Electrical & Instrumentation group

To review all legal requirements related to Electrical and ensure compliance.

Involve in the area of Integrity Management such as SIS, MOC, PHSSER, HAZOP, MIHITRA, Engineering Assurance Procedures conformance, Constructability and Safety Review VIP etc.

Participate in the successful maintenance of ISO14001 Environmental Management System by sitting in the steering committee and conduct periodical audit

Participate in HAZOP Study

Involve in the evaluation of relevant contractors performance together with HSSE and Purchasing Personnel

Ensure the closure of Action Item on the timely basis

Promote the use of new and useful equipment, technologies and procedures.

Undertake technical review of contractor design deliverables and oversee engineering quality performance

Liaise with the project delivery teams to support commissioning and start up of new equipment / systems.

Support and develop the Electrical contract support strategies.

Participate, contribute and support the plant HSSE initiatives as necessary to ensure a safe workplace. COW Roles – (a) Area Authority for Area of Custody with additional authority for HV equipment (up to 11kV), (b) Performing Authority.

Understand & Implement HITRA.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power)

3-5 years of experience preferably in the Petrochemical Industry.

Possess good communication and interpersonal skills with positive attitude.

Knowledge in design ,troubleshooting and familiar with project execution
