The Draftsperson/ Designer is responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate technical drawings to support sales orders, production, and engineering requirements. This role works closely with Sales, Production, Engineering, and Product Code teams to ensure drawings comply with specifications, standards, and internal procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years in drafting/designing within the engineering or manufacturing. Passionate fresh graduates with strong drafting skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software, such as Autodesk AutoCAD and Solidworks.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing Preparation & Control
- Develop and prepare technical drawings, layouts and assembly drawings based on approved specifications, standards and customer requirements using computer assisted drafting systems (CAD) (AUTOCAD) and other drafting devices.
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to translate concepts into detailed plans.
- Revise and update drawings according to Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Product Proposal Requests (PPR), or customer amendments.
- Ensure drawing revisions, dimensions, materials, and notes are accurate and clearly indicated.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation records.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and requirements.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback and project changes.
Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with Marketing Department to clarify technical requirements for standard and special/custom orders.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure drawings are suitable for manufacturing and installation.
- Support the Production Code (PC) team by providing finalized drawings required for item code creation.
- Respond to technical queries from internal departments in a timely manner.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry codes, and quality requirements.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or missing information in drawings and propose corrections promptly.
- Support internal audits, documentation checks, and quality improvement initiatives related to drawings.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in drafting software.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Assist in standardizing drawings, templates, and drafting practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Participate in system or process improvement initiatives related to drawing management and document control.
- Perform other drafting-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
