A hospitality company in Semporna, Malaysia, is seeking a Food and Beverage Director to oversee daily operations across multiple outlets. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of F&B experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Responsibilities include managing budgets, enhancing guest satisfaction, and leading staff. Strong financial acumen and fluency in English and Mandarin are required. This role demands flexibility for high-volume periods including evenings and weekends.
Operations Management: Directs daily F&B activities, ensuring seamless service across all outlets (restaurants, bars, room service, events).
Financial Management: Develops budgets, controls food and labor costs, monitors inventory, and identifies marketing opportunities to boost profitability.
Menu & Product Development: Collaborates with chefs to create menus, manages beverage programs, and ensures high standards for food quality and presentation.
Staff Leadership: Recruits, trains, mentors, and manages F&B staff (chefs, servers, bartenders, hosts), fostering high performance and service excellence.
Guest Experience: Implements strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, handles complaints, and ensures professional, courteous service.
Compliance & Standards: Ensures strict adherence to health, safety, sanitation, and brand standards.
Vendor & Supply Chain: Negotiates with suppliers, manages inventory, and ensures efficient supply chain processes.
Event Coordination: Oversees planning and execution of special events, banquets, and catering.
Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or Business Administration.
Experience: 10+ years of F&B experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or multi-unit management role.
Skills: Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., Micros, Square), strong financial acumen, and exceptional interpersonal communication.
Availability: Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to oversee high-volume periods.
Fluent in English: Professional working proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
Fluent in Mandarin: Ability to conduct business negotiations and deliver presentations.
