A leading retail recruitment firm in Malaysia is seeking a Fresh Department Leader to supervise all fresh sections, ensuring exceptional product quality and customer satisfaction. The candidate should have at least 3 years of retail supermarket experience, excellent leadership skills, and be familiar with inventory management systems. This role involves managing team performance, conducting quality checks, and coordinating vendor relations. Deliver exceptional service while maintaining food safety standards in a dynamic grocery environment.
• Fresh Department Leadership - Supervise and manage all fresh sections including Fruits & Vegetables, Meat, Seafood, Chilled, and Frozen categories while ensuring exceptional product quality and presentation standards
• Team Management & Development - Lead section supervisors and team members through effective task assignment, productivity monitoring, performance evaluation, and maintaining high standards of grooming and discipline
• Quality Control & Food Safety - Conduct daily floor walks, random quality checks, enforce FIFO procedures, maintain temperature logs, and ensure strict compliance with HACCP/GMP and hygiene SOPs
• Customer Service Excellence - Handle escalated customer complaints, manage special requests, and ensure friendly, efficient service across all fresh counters to maximize customer satisfaction
• Inventory & Stock Management - Review sales and inventory reports, coordinate with supervisors to prevent overstocking or stockouts, lead stock counts, and investigate shrinkage or spoilage issues
• Sales Planning & Analysis - Analyze departmental sales performance by section, evaluate profit margins, coordinate promotional activities with marketing teams, and suggest pricing adjustments or product changes
• Operations & Compliance - Prepare weekly schedules, manage manpower allocation, maintain equipment functionality, ensure facility cleanliness, and oversee all documentation requirements
• Vendor Relations - Assess vendor performance regarding quality, delivery, and returns while coordinating promotional displays and sampling activities
• Retail Experience - Candidates with 3 years of retail supermarket background who understand the complexities of fresh grocery operations and customer expectations
• Leadership Skills - Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage multiple teams, inspire performance, and maintain high operational standards across diverse fresh departments
• System Proficiency - Familiarity with Panda System for efficient inventory management, reporting, and operational processes
• Ordering Management - Demonstrated ability to manage ordering processes, forecast demand accurately, and maintain optimal stock levels across multiple product categories
• Operational Excellence - Experience in food safety compliance, quality control procedures, and retail operations management with attention to detail and process improvement
